EMBRS Scholarship

EMBRS logoThe Emergency Medicine Basic Research Skills (EMBRS) workshop, sponsored by ACEP/EMF, is a highly sought-after workshop designed by a task force of experts and experienced investigators to train individuals new to clinical research. It provides background on the fundamentals of research, starting with an overview of the research process and then focusing on specific principles and terms. The EMBRS Workshop is ten days divided into two sessions. The first session is scheduled for November 6-12, 2017 and the second session will take place April 9-11, 2018. Purpose of Award:  This scholarship promotes the development of emergency medicine researchers. 

Application Process:  To apply, e-mail a letter of support from your chair, program director or mentor, curriculum vitae, and a cover letter detailing how the EMBRS course will benefit your career, and career interests as well as providing your proposed research projects. Combine all the required documents in one PDF and e-mail to Jana Nelson, EMF Strategic Partnership Manager at jnelson@acep.org by June 30, 2017 at 5 pm CST.

Eligibility:  Member of ACEP or EMRA

Selection Criteria:  Applications will be reviewed and evaluated based on potential impact of the recipient on emergency medicine research, strength of letter of support and prior commitment to research. 

Award: Stipend to cover the registration fees and travel expenses to attend the intensive 10-day, 2 session course provided by EMBRS.
