Bio: Dr. Lawrence, of Fairfield, California, was elected ACEP's vice president, following her re-election to the board for a three-year term. She has served on the board since 2002 and as its secretary-treasurer since 2004. A military emergency physician, Dr. Lawrence has provided leadership to the Governmental Services Chapter, which represents military emergency physicians across the United States, as well as on various committees and as editor of several ACEP publications.

Dr. Lawrence is Chief of Medical Staff for the David Grant Medical Center and an attending physician in the emergency department at Travis Air Force Base. In addition, she serves as Chief Emergency Medicine Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General and an Associate Professor for the Department of Military and Emergency Medicine, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD.

She completed her medical training at Temple University in Philadelphia and her residency in emergency medicine at the Geisinger Medical Center in 1992.
